Wannan YE4 replacements: a power upgrade can change the mounting option

Moving from the 4 kW YE4-112M-4 to the 5.5 kW YE4-132S-4 changes the shaft and flange, not just the electrical load. The catalogue’s mounting matrix also stops listing B14 at frame 112. Check these boundaries before specifying a higher-power replacement for a gearbox, pump or compact machine.

Electrical values are the 380 V, 50 Hz four-pole rows. Dimensions refer specifically to the catalogue’s B35 foot-and-flange arrangement and are in millimetres; they are not B14 dimensions.

Check whether the requested mounting is listed for that frame

B14, B34 and V18 are listed only for frames 63–112

The mounting matrix marks these arrangements for frames 63–112 and leaves them unlisted in larger frame groups. A compact B14 gearbox connection therefore cannot be assumed to carry over to the 132-frame 5.5 kW example. Request a confirmed alternative assembly before selecting the larger motor.

V3 availability also has a frame boundary

V3 is marked for frames 63–112 and 132–160, but not for 180–280 or 315–355. V1 is listed across all four frame groups. Give the supplier the actual shaft direction and driven-machine loading; a vertical request without the mounting code leaves an important configuration undecided.

Large-frame B5 is not listed as a standard choice

For frames 315–355, the table marks B3, B35 and V1, while B5 is unlisted. Do not select a flange-only arrangement from a small-frame illustration. The frame-specific mounting table and final assembly drawing should agree.

Allow for the changed starting demand

Both four-pole examples list a locked-rotor current ratio of 9.5. Multiplying by rated current gives about 79 A for the 4 kW motor and 108 A for the 5.5 kW motor under the catalogue conditions. These are screening calculations, not breaker settings: assess the actual supply, starting method, acceleration time and protection coordination.

Measure space for the terminal box and cable bend

The catalogue treats the right-side terminal box as standard unless the order states otherwise. Identify the viewing direction on the installation drawing and confirm any alternative position. The larger shaft and 55 mm longer B35 body already require a fit check; cable access can create a separate obstruction.

Keep the supply-specific performance sheet with the quotation

The comparison above is from the 380 V, 50 Hz table. A 60 Hz or alternative-voltage order needs its own rated current, speed and performance confirmation. The family’s availability of other supplies does not make the 50 Hz figures applicable unchanged.
