01 / FIVE REAL APPLICATION PATHS
Do not compare these families by kilowatts alone
HuE: inspect the removable foot arrangement
The company's HuE page says frames 63–280 can be changed among B3, B5 and B35 mounting by changing the foot arrangement. It also distinguishes sealed bearings through frame 180 from re-greasable open bearings at frame 200 and above. A replacement buyer should compare bolt circle, shaft height, terminal orientation, bearing access and coupling alignment, not infer that every bracket position fits an existing machine.
Confirm before ordering Provide old outline and mounting photos, required B3/B5/B35 arrangement, shaft and bearing load, maintenance access, 400 V/50 Hz or the site's actual supply. Ask for the exact HuE configuration drawing and bearing/seal schedule.
NEMA: a North American frame needs its own compliance check
The NEMA page lists frames 143T–449T, 60 Hz and voltage options of 230/460, 460 and 575 V, with 1.15 service factor mentioned for the family. A 400 V IEC-style motor is not automatically a mechanical or electrical substitute. Confirm the precise frame, enclosure, nameplate and relevant market approval for the ordered unit.
Confirm before ordering State destination, frame, shaft and base drawing, voltage/frequency, starts, load profile and required listing. Request an exact offered nameplate and valid approval scope rather than assuming the whole range shares one certificate.
YE4 versus YVF2: decide whether speed is fixed or controlled
The YE4 page includes separate 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-pole rows with different rated output and efficiency, while YVF2 has a distinct inverter-duty table. The highest efficiency in one YE4 row and the broadest speed claim for YVF2 cannot be joined into a single motor specification. For a pump or fan with a VFD, request the motor-drive operating envelope and cooling at minimum loaded speed.
Confirm before ordering Send process speed and torque points, VFD model, cable length, ambient and efficiency target. Ask for the exact pole/frame row, inverter insulation, bearing treatment, cooling and performance tests under the offered configuration.

YG: decide whether the roller is conveying or working
The maker's YG page expressly covers continuous S1 transfer rollers and short-time or intermittent work rollers in metallurgy. A work roller may see reversing, impact and repeated starts that a transfer roller's steady load does not. Define the actual cycle and temperature before quoting frame size.
Confirm before ordering Give roller diameter, line speed, material/ambient heat, impact and jam loads, starts/reversals, gearbox and duty timeline. Request a thermal calculation and the ordered bearing, sealing and cooling details.
