About this motor series

The YZR family uses a wound rotor for crane and metallurgy duty. Hongtai publishes operating guidance for repeated starting, reversing and electrical or mechanical braking, with S3-40% as its reference rating. Its catalogue discusses S4 and S5 duty because starting and braking losses affect thermal selection.

Specify the rotor-circuit equipment and starting strategy when requesting a replacement or new drive. Include the number of starts, jogging operations, stops and reversals per hour, together with the driven inertia. Check the required insulation and enclosure option for the actual site. Do not transfer a cage-motor selection directly to YZR without confirming the rotor connection and control requirements.
